“Black Hair” Is Hair: A Community Workshop
Presented by Art & Soul Consulting in conjunction with Jaja’s African Hair Braiding at SpeakEasy Stage

Join us for a 90-minute interactive workshop that welcomes everyone—whether you’re a theatergoer, artist, educator, or simply curious. Through a mix of seminar-style learning, hands-on exploration with wigs and mannequins, and a live hair demonstration, we’ll unpack the history, care, and cultural significance of Black hair.

Come expand your understanding, ask questions, and gain tools to better understand, embrace, and support textured hair in both everyday and creative spaces. Light refreshments and open conversation to follow.
